
Bulldogs seeded No. 14 for Northern California Regional Baseball Playoffs
College of San Mateo is returning to the postseason for the second consecutive season.
On Sunday, CSM received the No. 14 seed for the upcoming 2024 Northern California Regional Playoffs. The Bulldogs will travel to No. 11 Santa Rosa Junior College for a best-of-three-game series that is scheduled to begin on Friday (May 3) at 2:00 p.m. Game 2 is set for Saturday (May 4) at 11 a.m. with a third game, if necessary, to start at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason event are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.
The Bulldogs recently secured a third-place finish in the final Coast Conference North Division standings with a 13-7 mark. CSM brings a 23-14 overall record into the postseason. The Bulldogs are making their first postseason appearance under new head coach Riley Goulding.
No. 11 Santa Rosa enters the playoffs with a 28-12 overall record and ended tied for third place in the Big 8 Conference at 16-8.
This weekend marks the second meeting of the season between the two squads. On Feb. 13, San Mateo pulled out a 12-11 non-conference victory in 10 innings at home.
The winner of the opening series will advance to a three-team, double-elimination Super Regional on May 9-11. Winners of the Super Regionals meet in a three-game Regional Finals series on May 17-19 with a trip to the state championships on the line.
The 3C2A State Championships are scheduled for May 25-27 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
