No. 3 Bulldogs cruise to huge 51-7 Bay 6 win at CCSF
SAN FRANCISCO – Quarterback Dominic Ingrassia tossed a pair of touchdowns and kicker Dieter Kelly booted 3 field goals to help lead No. 3 state-ranked College of San Mateo to a 51-7 rout at rival City College of San Francisco on Saturday afternoon.
With the Bay 6 League victory, the Bulldogs improved to 7-1 overall and remain perfect in league play with two games to go at 3-0. CSM has now won five straight.
The San Mateo defense allowed just one touchdown midway through the first quarter that tied up the game at 7-7. From that point, the Bulldogs went on to outscore CCSF 44-0.
Ingrassia threw a pair of first-half touchdowns, connecting with KB Boone for a 16-yarder and hitting Nico Caruso for a 25-yard strike. Lolo Mataele had a 7-yard TD run, Hassan Mahasin ignited the CSM sideline with an 81-yard punt return for a touchdown, and Kelly nailed fields goals of 34 and 47 yards to give CSM a commanding 34-7 advantage at halftime.
Kelly was good from 37 yards out on his last try in the third quarter, Ali Collier ran in for a 21-yard touchdown, and backup quarterback Conner Annicharico threw a 8-yard TD pass to Maurice Savage in the fourth to close out a busy day of scoring for the Bulldogs.
Ingrassia was an efficient 9 for 13 on passing for 132 yards with 2 TDs and no interceptions. Mataele led with 8 carries for 47 yards while Jaelin Green had 3 receptions for 86 yards.
Kelly continued his solid season. He accounted for 15 points in the contest, going a perfect 3 for 3 on field goals and 6 for 6 on PAT kicks.
The CSM defense limited San Francisco to 161 yards. Andrew Buck and Albert Tuakalu had sacks while Sherrod Smith and Devon Gordon grabbed interceptions for defensive highlights.
San Mateo will look to keep the momentum going next Saturday (Nov. 9) when the Bulldogs host San Joaquin Delta College in a 1 p.m. Bay 6 League game.
