
Bulldogs’ Watts named NCFC Offensive Player of the Week
College of San Mateo freshman quarterback Richie Watts was named the Week 3 Northern California Football Conference (NCFC) National Division Offensive Player of the Week for his impressive game this past Saturday against Modesto Junior College.
Watts, originally out of Rocklin High School, threw for 291 yards and a touchdown. He was nearly perfect, completing 18 of 20 passes on his way to leading CSM to a 35-14 win over Modesto.
The Bulldogs, now 3-0 overall, moved up one spot to No. 2 in this week's state rankings. San Mateo returns to action this Saturday (Sep. 24) when it plays at American River College. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
