Bio
Andreas currently serves as Dean of Kinesiology and Athletic Director at College of San Mateo. Prior to his appointment in 2006, he served in a similar administrative role at Skyline College (2001-2006), and was the head men’s soccer coach and physical education instructor at Skyline (1991-2001).
Andreas received his B.A. in Biomechanics in 1988 and his M.A. in Exercise Physiology from San Francisco State University in 1991.
Andreas’ accomplishments include having played on the U.S. National Youth soccer team (1980 -1981) and Olympic Development Team (1981-1982). He also played intercollegiately for San Francisco State University where he was voted to the All-American team in 1982 and still holds the record for most shutouts in a season. While coaching at Skyline, he was named Conference Coach of the Year (1995), and served as the Conference Rep for men’s soccer. Andreas was inducted into the Pacifica Sports Hall of Fame (2010). Andreas also was a staff coach on the state and regional U.S. Olympic Development Programs.
At College of San Mateo, he helped facilitate a revision of the entire curriculum which now includes online courses as well as the development of four Certificate Programs to prepare students to enter the workforce in the Fitness Industry. Andreas also began the Athletics Hall of Fame at CSM which is still considered to be one of the most prominent celebrations on campus. He has served on the CCCAA Management Council as the rep. for Women’s Volleyball for two terms, and served on Management Council as the rep for the CCCADA. He has served as the President of the CCCADA was both the League Rep for the Bay 6 in the NCFC, and President of the NCFC.
Andreas resides in Redwood City, has two children, Logan (26) and Madisen (24) and has been happily married to his wife Andrea for 30 years.
