Bio

Dale Bassmann is in his 22nd season as an assistant coach with the CSM Softball team. Starting under Head Coach Tom Martinez in 2001. In that time CSM has won nine conference championships. Graduated from Watsonville High School 1961. AA degree from Cabrillo College 1964. Bachelors degree in 1968 from Chico State majoring in Liberal Arts. Graduate work and Teaching Credential from Chico State 1968. Masters work at San Francisco State 1969. Started teaching at Aragon High School 1968 to 1984. Transferred to Hillsdale High School 1984 and taught there until retirement in 2005. Played football and baseball in high school and college. Coached high school football, track and golf while at Hillsdale and Aragon.

Dale started coaching youth softball 16 years ago with the San Mateo Youth Softball Association. In 1997 started coaching the Goldrush 18 and under travel ball team. In 2004 the team changed its name to changed to California Goldrush and began competing as a Women’s Fastpitch Open Division team, which is the highest division in Amateur Softball Association travel ball. During the past 3 seasons playing on as a head coach at the national level Dale’s record is 91-20. In the past 3 years his teams have won an ASA National championship in 2006, 2nd. Place at ASA Nationals 2007, 3rd. Place at ASA Nationals 2005. In 16 years of coaching Softball Dale has never had a losing season.
