Bio

Bennie Chawn Murray, a seasoned basketball player and coach, brings over 25 years of playing experience and 10+ years of coaching expertise. Bennie played collegiate basketball at Notre Dame de Namur for two years before transferring to Chaminade University of Honolulu, HI. At Chaminade, he emerged as one of the top scorers for the Silverswords, earning All-League honors in both years of his tenure.

Following his college years, Bennie embarked on an international playing career, showcasing his talents in countries such as China, Brazil, Mexico, Philippines, and Australia. Notably, he played for The Newcastle Hunters in Australia.

In addition to his playing career, Bennie has dedicated himself to coaching and is the proud owner and operator of "3 The Hard Way Basketball." Established in 2020, this company offers private lessons to individual athletes and small groups, with a primary focus on helping athletes develop their skills and reach their full potential.

Bennie's coaching experience spans across various age groups, from grades K-12, and he has successfully directed camps with impressive turnouts of over 100 kids. Notably, he has held head coaching positions at Vaca Pena Middle School, Central Middle School, Tierra Linda Middle School, and Sacred Heart Prep (girls JV). His coaching philosophy revolves around encouraging students to embrace challenges, fostering growth both on and off the court.
