Bulldogs named No. 19 seed for Northern California Playoffs
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PLAYOFFS BRACKET
The College of San Mateo men's basketball team is headed back to the postseason for the fourth straight season. On Sunday, the Bulldogs were named the No. 19 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.
CSM is set to travel to No. 14-seed Santa Rosa Junior College for a first-round game on Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 5:30 p.m. Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason game are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. The game will also be live streamed on YouTube by NorCal Sports TV.
The Bulldogs enter the playoffs with a 14-14 overall record and finished third in the final Coast Conference North Division standings at 7-5 under head coach Mike Marcial.
Last year, the Bulldogs advanced to the second round of the playoffs. CSM edged Gavilan College 52-50 in its postseason opener before falling 90-57 at College of the Sequoias.
No. 14 Santa Rosa wrapped up its regular season with a 22-6 overall record and were co-champions of the Big 8 Conference with a 14-2 mark. San Mateo and Santa Rosa will be meeting for the first time this season.
The winner of Wednesday's match up will move on to a second-round game at No. 3 College of the Sequoias on Saturday. Three wins are needed by the Bulldogs to advance to the 3C2A State Championships on March 15-17 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
