Former Bulldog Cole Gabrielson signs with New York Yankees
Another College of San Mateo standout is going pro.
Former Bulldog Cole Gabrielson (2020-21) recently signed as an undrafted free agent with the New York Yankees. He was then assigned to the Yankees' Florida Complex League squad and got off to a terrific start.
In his first game in a Yankees' uniform earlier this month, Gabrielson went 3 for 4 with a home run, a pair of singles, and an RBI.
With CSM, Gabrielson hit .338 with 6 home runs and 29 RBI over 20 games during the 2021 on his way to earning all-conference and All-Northern California honors.
He then transferred to USC. An injury limited his playing time in 2022, but he bounced back with a solid senior campaign in 2023. Gabrielson batted .286 with 11 home runs and 48 RBI as he started 57 of 58 games for the Trojans.
