Bulldogs seeded No. 9 for Northern California Regional Baseball Playoffs
College of San Mateo is back in the playoffs.
On Sunday, CSM received the No. 9 seed for the upcoming 2023 Northern California Regional Playoffs. The Bulldogs are set to host No. 17 Modesto Junior College in a best-of-three-game series that is scheduled to begin on Friday (May 5) at 2:00 p.m. Game 2 is set for Saturday at 11 a.m. with a third game, if necessary, to start at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason event at CSM are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. The Bulldogs recently secured a second-place finish in the final Coast Conference North Division standings with an 11-9 mark. CSM brings a 27-12 overall record into the postseason.
Modesto enters the playoffs with a 21-16 overall record and ended fifth in the Big 8 Conference at 12-12. This weekend will mark the first meeting of the season between the two squads.
The winner of the opening series will advance to a three-team, double-elimination Super Regional on May 11-13. Winners of the Super Regionals meet in a three-game Regional Finals series on May 19-21 with a trip to the state championships on the line.
The state championships are scheduled for May 27-29 at Folsom Lake College.
