
No. 2 Bulldogs host No. 10 Hartnell in Northern California Super Regionals
College of San Mateo's state championship run continues this weekend (May 9-10) as the No. 2-seeded Bulldogs host No. 10 Hartnell College in the Northern California Super Regionals Playoffs.
The best-of-three series gets under way on Friday at 2 p.m. Game 2 is set for Saturday at noon followed by Game 3, if necessary, at 2 p.m.
Ticket prices for the 3C2A postseason event at CSM are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. CSM advanced to this weekend's Super Regionals after sweeping No. 15 Feather River College at home. Bulldog pitchers dominated the two games, posting 4-0 and 6-0 shut outs.
San Mateo is currently riding a 10-game winning streak and brings a 37-3 overall record the Super Regionals.
Coast Conference foe Hartnell knocked off No. 7-seed Sacramento City College on the road, winning a pair of close games by 2-1 and 3-1 margins. The Panthers are 25-14-1 overall heading into the contest.
CSM and Hartnell met twice this season in Coast Conference play. On March 13, the Bulldogs edged the Panthers 2-0 in Salinas. And on April 12, San Mateo defeated Hartnell 5-4 in a nine-inning game at home.
The winner of the Super Regionals series advances to the 3C2A State Championships on May 15-18 at West Valley College and San Jose City College.
