SAN MATEO – Pawllos Habtom totaled 15 points and 9 rebounds to help lead College of San Mateo to a 72-64 win over visiting Cañada College on Friday in a Coast Conference North Division game.
The victory improved the Bulldogs to 8-10 overall and moved CSM to 1-1 in the Coast North. San Mateo was able to bounce back from a close five-point loss to previously No. 5 state-ranked City College of San Francisco on Wednesday.
On Friday, the Bulldogs overcame a narrow 34-32 deficit at halftime to rally for the come-from-behind win.
CSM got double-digit scoring from Jason Montgomery (12 points), Andrew Taylor Bryant-Frey (11 points), and Zaden Martin (10 points) to contribute to the victory. Jack Busenhart contributed 9 rebounds off the bench while DaMarcus Collins added 6 points.
San Mateo returns to action on Wednesday (Jan. 17) when the Bulldogs travel to No. 8 state-ranked Chabot College for a 7 p.m. Coast Conference North Division game.
