CUPERTINO – The 2024 College of San Mateo women's volleyball season got off to an impressive start as the Bulldogs cruised to a3-0 sweep at De Anza College on Friday.
CSM handled De Anza with ease, taking the match by scores of 25-15, 25-10, and 25-15.
Sophomore Faith Crouch and freshman Ekinadese Okhomina led the Bulldogs on offense, each posting 8 kills on the day. Freshman setter Abbi Sanchez paced CSM with 28 assists and 5 aces. On defense, sophomores Alexa Rentar and Sina Leha'uli led with 8 digs each.
Also contributing to the win, sophomore Olivia Cooper added 5 kills and 5 digs while sophomore Aniyah Hall totaled 5 kills, 3 aces, and 3 digs.
CSM, now 1-0, returns to action on Wednesday (Aug. 28) when the Bulldogs travel to American River College for a 5 p.m. non-conference match.
