No. 23 Bulldogs efficient in sweep of Las Positas

SAN MATEO – Sophomore MJ Pakola totaled 9 kills while freshman Avalon Agnelli totaled 25 assists and 5 aces to help lead No. 23 state-ranked College of San Mateo to a Coast Conference South Division sweep of visiting Las Positas College on Friday night.

The 25-8, 25-12, 25-21 win over the Hawks improved the Bulldogs to 10-8 overall and 5-1 in the Coast South.

After cruising to the big opening-set win, head coach Katie Goldhahn was able to get some playing time for her reserves.

CSM hit an impressive .478 for the match, committing just 7 errors on 67 attempts with 39 kills. Jordan Flowers had 7 kills on 13 swings while Kianna Pierson, Faith Crouch, and Olivia Harrison all chipped in with 5 kills each.

Alexa Rentar led the Bulldogs with 12 digs and Liberty Tuifua added 14 assists.

San Mateo returns to the court on Wednesday (Nov. 1) at 6:30 p.m. when the Bulldogs travel to Gavilan College for another Coast Conference South Division match.
