Bulldogs fall 3-1 at No. 7 Fresno City

FRESNO – College of San Mateo faced Fresno City College for the second time this season with the same result as their previous. This time in the Rams' home gym, the Bulldogs suffered a similar 3-1 non-conference loss to No. 7 state-ranked FCC.

San Mateo won the opening set of the contest but ultimately lost the match by scores of 14-25, 25-22, 25-14, 25-20 to fall to 4-6 overall.  The setback snapped CSM;s two-match winning streak.

Olivia Cooper led the Bulldogs on offense with 10 kills to go along with 10 digs. Faith Crouch added 9 kills, while Madison Low chipped in with 8 kills, 8 digs, and 3 aces.

Emeli Muagututia had a team-high 30 assists and Alexa Rentar led CSM with 13 digs.

The Bulldogs will look to bounce back on Wednesday (Oct. 4) when they host De Anza College at 6:30 p.m.
