The run to the 2022 state championship for the College of San Mateo women's volleyball team begins next week. On Thursday, the Bulldogs were named the No. 4 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs. Postseason brackets were announced by the California Community College Athletic Association for the both the north and south regions.

CSM received a first-round bye and will host the winner of No. 13 Taft College and No. 20 Mendocino College in a second-round playoff match on Tuesday (Nov. 22) at 6:30 p.m.

Ticket prices for the CCCAA postseason match at CSM's College Heights Arena are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. Tickets are available online at the CSM Athletics website. | TICKETS

The Bulldogs recently wrapped up their first-ever Coast Conference North Division championship with a perfect 10-0 record. CSM enters the postseason as one of the hottest teams in the state and is currently riding a 15-match winning streak. The Bulldogs were ranked No. 3 in the most-recent California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) State Poll and are 20-3 overall.

CSM, under head coach Katie Goldhahn, is making its fourth consecutive postseason appearance. Last year, the Bulldogs advanced to the second round of the NorCal Playoffs.

Taft is 16-9 overall heading into the postseason and finished third in the Central Valley Conference with a 12-4 mark. Mendocino is 15-5 overall and took second place in the final Bay Valley Conference standings at 10-2.

Two wins are needed by the Bulldogs to advance the CCCAA Women's Volleyball State Championships, scheduled for Dec. 2-4 at Fresno City College in Fresno.
