Bulldogs continue rise in state rankings, move up one spot to No. 3

Another victory by College of San Mateo combined with a loss to a top-three team led to the Bulldogs moving up one spot to No. 3 in this week's California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) state rankings.

CSM handled Hartnell College 3-1 on Friday in its only contest last week to improve to 12-3 overall and 2-0 in Coast Conference play. The Bulldogs have now won seven straight matches, including 10 of its last 11.

Naomie Cremoux put together another big match, posting team-highs of 24 kills and 13 digs in the win over Hartnell. Valerie Bruk added 10 kills while Zooey Walsworth guided the offense with 45 assists.

Previous No. 3 American River College was upset by Folsom Lake College in five sets last week. ARC fell to No. 5 in the recent poll. Feather River College (22-1) holds the top spot, followed by San Joaquin Delta College at No. 2 (13-2)

San Mateo travels to Skyline College on Wednesday (Oct. 12) at 6:30 p.m. in its lone match this week.
