Sixth straight win catapults CSM to No. 4 in state poll, Cremoux named State Player of the Week

Following its big five-set non-conference victory over previously-No. 7 state-ranked Fresno City College, the College of San Mateo women's volleyball team jumped two spots to No. 4 in this week's California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) State Rankings.

The 22-25, 25-14, 30-28, 23-25, 15-12 marathon win over the visiting Rams on Saturday extended the Bulldogs' winning streak to six matches and was the second time this season CSM knocked off Fresno City.

Sophomore outside hitter Naomie Cremoux put together another huge match in leading the Bulldogs to the win. She was targeted for 60 attempts and slammed home a season-high 31 kills while hitting .383 for the day. Cremoux added 9 digs and 5 aces.

Valerie Bruk posted 11 kills and Angelina Estrada commanded the offense with 47 assists. Grace Thayer contributed 9 kills and 4 blocks while Ashley Chacon led CSM with 10 digs.

The Bulldogs improved to an impressive 11-3 overall. They return to Coast Conference North Division play on Friday (Oct. 7) when they play at Hartnell College.
