Bulldogs surge to fifth straight win, open conference play with sweep of Las Positas

SAN MATEO – The College of San Mateo women's volleyball team continued its impressive run midway through the season. On Friday, the No. 6 state-ranked Bulldogs made quick work of visiting Las Positas College by sweeping the Hawks in their Coast Conference North Division opener.

CSM won the match by scores of 25-8, 25-9, 25-12 for their fifth consecutive victory. The Bulldogs are now 10-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

San Mateo hasn't loss since their dropping the championship final match of the Delta Classic to defending state champion Feather River College on Sep. 10.

During the winning streak, they have picked up victories over then No. 18 Sierra (3-2), De Anza (3-0), West Valley (3-1), and Monterey Peninsula (3-0).

Sophomore outside hitter Naomie Cremoux has been instrumental in the success of the Bulldogs this season. In the tough win over Sierra, Cremoux totaled 25 kills and 16 digs. She posted 21 kills in both the West Valley and MPC victories.

CSM will look to keep the momentum going on Saturday (Oct. 1) at 2 p.m. when the Bulldogs host No. 7 state-ranked Fresno City College in a big non-conference match. Earlier this season, CSM defeated Fresno City 3-1 at the Delta Classic.
