No. 15 Bulldogs open playoffs with win over Solano, travel to No. 2 San Joaquin Delta for Round 2

SAN MATEO – Joslyn Moore recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds to help lead No. 15 seed College of San Mateo to a 52-28 win over No. 18 Solano Community College on Wednesday in an opening-round game of the Northern California Regional Playoffs.

The Bulldogs advance to take on No. 2-seeded San Joaquin Delta College in a second-round game on Saturday (March 2) at 7 p.m. in Stockton.

Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) postseason game are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.

Delta had a first-round bye and enters the playoffs on a seven-game winning streak. The Mustangs wrapped up the regular season with a 24-4 overall record and were champions of the Big 8 Conference at 14-2. Delta and San Mateo will be facing off for the first time this season.

Wednesday's playoff victory over Solano improved CSM to 19-9 this season. It was a tight battle between the two squads until late. Holding a narrow 37-36 advantage after three quarters, the Bulldogs outscored the Falcons 15-2 in the fourth to pull away for the win.

Jayonnah Carter added 11 points and 6 rebounds. Simone Murray contributed 7 points and 10 rebounds while Arianna Jordan and Chozen Horn-Young also scored 7 points each.
