Bulldogs named No. 19 seed for NorCal Playoffs; earn four Coast Conference postseason honors

The College of San Mateo men's basketball team returns to the postseason for the third consecutive season. On Sunday, the Bulldogs were named the No. 19 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.

CSM will travel to No. 14-seed Gavilan College for a first-round game on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) postseason game at Gavilan College in Gilroy are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.

The Bulldogs recently wrapped up the regular season with a 13-15 overall record and finished in seventh place at 3-11 in the highly-competitive Coast Conference North Division under head coach Mike Marcial.

Gavilan heads into the playoffs with a 19-9 overall record. The Rams finished third in the Coast Conference South Division with an 8-4 mark. Wednesday night marks the first meeting between CSM and Gavilan this season.

The winner of the contest advances to a second-round game at No. 3 College of the Sequoias (25-3) in Visalia on Saturday (Feb. 25). Three wins are needed by the Bulldogs to advance to the CCCAA State Championships on March 9-12 at West Hills College Lemoore in Lemoore.
