Bulldogs explode for 25-5 win over Cañada

SAN MATEO – Rowan Felsch smashed a pair of home runs on his way to a big 3 for 4 day at the plate with 5 RBI to help lead College of San Mateo to a huge 25-5 Coast Conference North Division win over visiting Cañada College on Thursday.

The victory improved the Bulldogs to 16-9 overall and 6-2 in the Coast North.

The 25 runs scored by CSM in the contest set a new season high. The Bulldogs banged out 22 hits which was their second highest total of the season. Just last week, San Mateo had 23 hits in a 24-2 win over City College of San Francisco. Thursday also marked the third time this year that CSM scored 20 or more runs in a game.

Vicente Feliciano and AJ Carter also smacked home runs for the Bulldogs. Feliciano went a perfect 3 for 3 with 4 RBI and 5 runs while Carter was 3 for 5 with 3 RBI.

Aidan Taclas came off the bench to go 3 for 3 with a pair of doubles and 4 RBI. Nathan Martinez and Emilio Feliciano also drove in 2 runs each.

Brayden Hiraki was solid in the start on the mound, going 6 innings while allowing 2 runs and 4 hits. Cade Berry contributed 2 innings of scoreless relief.
